Community-based Tourism – Enjoy the Experience!

FaceBook | Orkut | Twitter | Youtube

Imagine a place of incomparable beauty kept by fishermen and women that have lived for years respecting and integrating with the surrounding environment. A community involved by collective ties and values that express themselves in the local culture and organization in defense of the rights of traditional populations and of the environment.

Experience living a few days in contact with nature and unique ways of life in one of the 12 communities of the coast of Ceará that are part of Tucum – Ceará Network of community-based tourism. A movement that develops a different kind of tourism, with the marks of traditional popular wisdom, surrounded by beautiful natural landscapes.

Contact us, clarify your doubts, visit Tucum!
To get to know the destinations of the Tucum Network means to live the most traditional and welcoming culture of Ceará, also profoundly marked by stories of struggle and resistance.

In the Sunset (west) or Sunrise (east) coast, you’ll find different communities; each one has special characteristics, so don’t miss the opportunity to give yourself up to nature and the exchange of affectivity and knowledge.

The Tucum Network allows you to share experiences with fishermen, women shellfish collectors, indigenous peoples and farmers - the memory guardians of the people of the sea. Their ways of labor and culture are a great tourist attraction, as well as their beaches, dunes, lagoons and mangroves. In every destination music, dance and popular manifestations are among the remarkable characteristics of the community and contribute, together with the community organization, to the strengthening of their culture and the protection of their territory.
