Flecheiras is the most known and frequented beach of the district of Trairi. It’s a coastal community where conventional tourism is already well developed.
The half-moon shape of the beach makes up a beautiful bay, between green nut palm-tree groves and smooth white dunes. The practice of traditional fishing, collection of seaweeds and tourism are the main economic activities of these creative people that live by the sea.
There, one of the most successful experiences with the cultivation of seaweed in the country has been developed, stimulating the protection of the environment. The seaweeds are benefited to be employed as food source, besides being transformed into handcraft and cosmetic products.
In Flecheiras, the association is pleased to present its location and form of work with the seaweeds, in the centre of production as well as in the cultivation area at sea. It is also possible to taste different recipes that use the cultivated seaweeds as raw material.
Thus, the visitors can understand, in a different and fun way, the importance of developing sustainable strategies to relate with the environment.
In fact, environmental education in a pleasant place is the strongest mark of this community.
